We look forward to your visit to Canary Gallery this Thursday, May 10, from 5-8 p.m. for the Opening Reception for artist Sam Collins!
Copy of Sam Collins-American *Pop Artist* will be celebrated on Thursday, May 10, from 5-8 p.m.
A *Pop Artist* is an artist whose works are inspired by, or a parody or commentary on, popular culture, and whose works tend to fall into the style and technique of the pop art movement. Pop art resonates with most of us because, unlike many avant-garde movements, it incorporates subject matter and techniques with which a wider audience is already familiar. Pop artists favor realism, everyday and even mundane imagery and a weighty dose of irony and wit.
Sam's works capture Americana with a touch of nostalgia. His production technique (aluminum) is a brilliant touch! Pop into the Gallery; we look forward to having you.

Happy Ground Hog Day!
Ground Hog Day is one of my favorite celebrations! And while Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow earlier this morning and predicts six more weeks of winter, I choose to await the prognostication of our own Birmingham Bill for the prediction of future weather.
At Canary Gallery we love celebrations. It is our privilege to be the chosen venue for events ranging from a Birthday event for a 2 year old and a 90 year old; Weddings; Engagement Parties; Political Fundraisers; Book signings and Corporate Events. Shared below are photographs of some of the amazing events hosted with us.

What are the chances . . .
What are the chances that young entrepreneur Ryan O'Hara of Big Spoon Creamery walks into Canary Gallery to serve his sammies as a wedding dessert only to find a painting of his employee scooper Hannah Weems?! Artist Amy Collins was taken with Hannah as a perfect resource for one of her paintings recently showcased as a work in her Art is Food for the Soul themed exhibit at the Gallery.
Ryan shared his discovery with Hannah and while taking a break from her studies, Hannah brought her Father into Canary Gallery to view the painting of her. Needless to say, the painting was a wonderful surprise Christmas gift for Hannah's Mother!
