A lifelong artist born in Dothan, Alabama, Beverly Erdreich attended Newcomb College in New Orleans obtaining a BA degree in Art History. She has more than 30 shows to her credit including exhibits at the Montgomery Museum of Fine Art, the Center for Contemporary Art in Santa Fe and permanent collections in the Birmingham Museum of Art. Her works are collected in other museums, private and corporate collections throughout the U.S.
While Erdreich’s focus over the past decade has been works to spotlight issues such as abortion, aids, atrocities of war and repeated acts of inhumanity, a new body has emerged as a foil to this darker side of nature. The paintings currently reflected on this site are included in Transformations, the result of Erdreich’s escape and refuge; her successful walk through life with an optimistic view.
“Some of this work reflects quiet and contemplative moments, other pieces show celebratory and joyous times. Included are compositions that are extremely complex showing that harmony can be achieved even with conflicting forces.”
