I am thrilled to announce a new and emerging artist at Canary Gallery. Addison Duke, a world traveler, has landed in Birmingham bringing with him delightful large modern paintings on canvas and creative continuous line abstracts on paper.
Addison’s works often obtain a written message. A Little Sleep’s meaningful admonition is to not rest on ones laurels but to work hard! *A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest* balances the vibrant colors and large size of the piece.
His continuous line abstracts are created by a contraption he made out of wood to allow simultaneous use of multiple pens in his drawings. The added watercolor enhances the drawings, bringing them from a simple black and white image to magically, colorful renderings.
