It might be gray and rainy outside but inside Canary Gallery in the Chandelier Gallery you will enter Bruce Holwerda’s world of bright colors and creativity! Make Canary Gallery your happy place. Open 11 a.m. til 8 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday.
Artist Bruce Holwerda’s paintings in his series Life is a Circus: portraits, figure scapes & character studies capture ones imagination visually and intellectually. I could live in Bruce’s works! Meet Bruce at his Opening this Thursday from 6-8 and walk into his imagination!
I typically acknowledge an event at Canary Gallery by not lighting the chandelier in the Chandelier Gallery. Today, however, the chandelier is shining as brightly as possible to uplift the survivors of 9.11.
As many of you know, my family are lawyers by trade. One of the cases we continue to protect is that of The 9.11 Widows and Children* as they refer to themselves. The children are no longer children; they are attending college and generally making this world a better place notwithstanding their losses. The Widows continue to make their mark in Congress, organizing Foundations memorializing their losses and creating the most tranquil, lovely gardens in loving memory of their loved ones.
And so, though the Widows and Children are in my heart daily, today, the chandelier shines for them.
Word is out! And we are out of words to describe the exceptional Exhibit of Patty B. Driscoll. Persistence opened last week to much anticipation and did not disappoint! The year long effort of Patty B. to create ten magical paintings which serve as metaphors of Southern women and their strength astounded visitors to Canary Gallery.
The paintings will hang in the Chandelier Gallery until September 29; we hope you will make time to view these exquisite works.
Join us for the Opening Reception of Persistence featuring the paintings of artist Patty B. Driscoll on Thursday, August 23, from 5-8 p.m. Patty's works will be exhibited through September 29 at the Gallery.
